It’s that time of year again when the film industry gets together to loudly congratulate itself by presenting gold statues. This year the film everyone seems to be out to beat will be the musical La La Land but look out for some surprises along the way. I get the feeling it won’t all go the way some people think.
This year, more than any others, the competition is strong with some superb movies all battling for Oscar. Jimmy Kimmel, the talk show host, will be presenting and one thing is for sure, there will be some heavily political speeches made tonight, mostly aimed at one person.
The show starts, UK time, at 1.30am.
As always, I have delivered the full list and highlighted my choices in red. The winners will be in green if they are different to the ones I have predicted.
