Once again, I am happy to hand over my reviewing to the far more professional and talented Holly Smith, who, last time, produced one of the most popular reviews on this site, for Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy (it’s still being repinned on Pinterest!)
This time, Ms Smith is looking at the new sequel to Rio, the popular animation from a few years back. What else is there to say except, take it away, Holly!
This is the second Rio film. It is set in the Amazon jungle, there are lots of birds including blue macaws, parakeets and toucans. The birds live in a secret place near mean people who chop down trees.
The main characters in this film were macaws called Blu and Jewel. They are happily married with babies. Eduardo is Jewels Dad and he is very serious. There is a crazy tree frog called Gabby who was helping her friend who was trying to kill Blu. Gabby was funny.
At the start of the film Blu and Jewel were living in a city called Rio. They flew to the Amazon jungle because they thought that there were more blue macaws. When they got there they found lots of blue macaws including Jewels Dad Eduardo. They met some of Jewels friends.
Soon Blu finds out that the horrible people are cutting down trees near the birds home. He tells his friend to warn all the birds that were in the amazon as they wouldn’t have a home anymore. The blue macaws make friends with a human called Linda, she loves the birds and tries to save them and stop the bad humans.
I liked this film because it had a good story and it was fun. There was lots of singing and dancing which made me feel happy. I think everyone would like this film including grown ups.
